Gooey-Yummy Mochi Balls

When I was nine, I desperately wanted some changes in my daily activities. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do, but I knew for certain that I was passionate about watching my sister prepare gourmet dishes. She cooks the best food ever! Her cooking abilities fueled my passion for cooking. I began preparing dishes for my family, and I found the process fascinating.

I’ve always had this love for desserts. So I will share how to make Choco-Berry Mochi Balls (chilled rice balls). Work on the filling first. Roll 6 tablespoons of strawberry jam into 6 balls. Wrap each with chocolate spread. Roll again then chill for 20 minutes. On to the Mochi now. In a microwaveable bowl, mix water, sugar, and glutinous rice flour. Microwave for 2 minutes, stirring mixture every 30 seconds. Remove mochi from bowl and divide into 6 pieces. Dust a flat pan with sweet potato starch and flatten each piece of mochi. Wrap mochi around the chocolate-strawberry balls. Chill until ready to serve. Enjoy!
